O'Reilly World of Wheels Student Career Day

The Chattanooga and Birmingham O’Reilly World of Wheels has announced an initiative to reach high school automotive students in an effort to introduce them to the world of the aftermarket hot rod industry.

The response from both students and instructors has been high and based on this, the Chattanooga O’Reilly World of Wheels will host its 4th Annual Student Career Day at the Chattanooga Convention Center on Friday, January 8, 2010.

The Birmingham O’Reilly World of Wheels will host its 4th Annual Student Career Day at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex on Friday, February 12, 2010.

The Program will begin at 10:00 AM with a welcome reception where the students will have the opportunity to hear from World of Wheels spokespersons, as well as area business leaders.

The students will then be given a wristband that will allow them entrance to the show that morning for a pre-show viewing. The wristband also allows the students to attend O’Reilly World of Wheels, throughout the weekend.  Box lunches are included in the one low ticket price.

The Goals of the O’Reilly World of Wheels Student Career Day

• Expose students to opportunities in the specialty automotive aftermarket industry that SEMA calls a $34 billion industry.
  



• Allow students to view talents of the participants who have handcrafted many of the vehicles participating in the O’Reilly World of Wheels.
  



• Provides a forum for students to view firsthand many of North America’s finest show vehicles, many of which have been featured in magazines and television programs.
  



• Provide an opportunity for students to visit with many of the car owners and builders who have painstakingly completed their projects.

The O’Reilly World of Wheels Student Career Day is sure to be a great time for students and teachers. In 2009 the number of students participating exceeded expectations and we expect participation for 2010 to be even greater.
